- Turn vacuum motor switch to ON and leave constantly ON during entire seeding operation.
- Turn vibrator motor switch ON and adjust the vibrator rheostat (dial) for light or heavy vibration.

8) Spreading seed: Seeds should be broadcast (sprinkled) over template at a slight angle. Be sure some seed is above the top row. Surplus seeds fall into hopper as the template is tipped to a higher angle. Seeds can be scoopedout of the hopper byhand, or withthe scoop provided. Occasionally the seed should be screened to remove dirt or pieces of seed coating. Adjust the vacuum rheostat (dial) to a higher vacuum reading if the seed is not holding on the templa te, or to a lower vacuum reading if too many seeds are being held in one hole. These control settings can be entered into a log book for future reference, listing fue variety of seed and the setting that works best. |

9) To position and singuIate fue seed, press the momentary switch on the left side of the template head to vibrate the seed ayer the template (A). Depress the momentary switch as soon as seeds are spread, and "pulse" this switch with such a rhythm so as to maintain a constant RPM of the rotary weight on fue vibrator motor. |

10) To remove doubles, tap the edge of the template head with a rubber mallet (or equivalent) to remove extra seeds. |

11) A small artist's watercolor paint brush mar be used to singulate or reposition fine seed, and to clean the holes in templates that might be clogged with dirt or pieces of seed. (DO NOT CLEAN MYLAR TEMPLA TES WITH A PIN!) |
